How to Recycle Your Waste

Many of us recycle our waste on a daily basis. Remember when the principle of recycling was almost unknown to us?

It is now part of our daily lives. It seems obvious not to throw that empty wine bottle in the trash or sort the paper.

However, our good intentions are often undermined because we do not recycle our waste properly. According to a recent study, recycling rates across the USA are steadily increasing.

Good news, but could we do even better? Here are some tips on how to properly recycle your waste.

Start recycling right from the grocery store shelves

In order to protect the environment, we need to be more aware of our consumption habits and try to limit as much as possible the amount of waste we produce.

And it starts right on the supermarket shelves! Avoid foods wrapped in plastic or in excessive packaging.

Instead, go for fruits and vegetables in bulk (and cook and eat seasonal foods; that's even better!) And store your legumes in glass jars, for example.

How to recycle your waste and Ditch the Plastic Bags

Every year, shoppers around the world use 500 billion single-use plastic bags, which often end up at the bottom of the ocean!

Plastic bags take a long time to degrade in nature. The result is that more than 100,000 sea creatures die each year after becoming entangled in plastic.

To avoid this, simply avoid using plastic bags in stores. Always keep a collapsible shopping bag in your purse.

If you pack your glass bottles and boxes in plastic bags before putting them for recycling, stop.

Tulsa Dumpster Guys are not processed by recycling centers and must therefore be processed by hand, which slows down the process.

There are now suitable and easy-to-use recycling systems, so take advantage of them!

HOW TO RECYCLE YOUR WASTE AND TO-GO COFFEE

We often worry about recycling at home, but our good resolutions stop as soon as we walk in the doorway.

Most cups used in coffee machines, for example, are lined with polyethylene.

It is estimated that every minute, more than a million disposable cups are sent to landfills. So invest in a pretty reusable coffee mug instead.

How to Recycle Your Garbage, Get the Job Started

By cleaning your waste (glass jars, bottles, etc.) before putting them in the trash, you increase the efficiency of recycling.

A sponge and a little washing-up liquid are enough; no need to spend gallons of water!

Crush metal boxes and plastic bottles to remove excess air, and flatten cardboard boxes.

Guidance on How to Recycle Your Garbage

Now you know how to recycle paper, glass, tin, etc., but what about other household items?

Did you know that you can not only recycle a bottle of wine but also its cork stopper? You just need to put it in the compost, at the bottom of the garden, for example.

As for your old mattress, it is filled with valuable materials and can be dropped off at your local recycling center, just like many of your household appliances.

Keep an eye out: your supermarket probably has a receptacle for used batteries or bulbs. Are your old glasses broken or out of style?

Ask your optician to recycle them. Did you receive a gift? Save the wrapping paper for later.
